04 · About

We build the company intelligence tool we couldn't buy.

A report should read like a colleague who's studied the accounts for you — not a PDF apologising for its own existence. That's what Verif-AI is.

The story

Two kinds of tool dominate UK company analysis. The first hands you a letter — "Amber · Monitor" — that you can't defend in a meeting. The second hands you an 80-page PDF no one has time to read. You pick between an answer with no workings and workings with no answer.

Verif-AI is the third option: a plain-English answer you can quote, with the numbers and the source filing one click behind it. An answer and a number.

"Pays its bills · Audit unqualified · Cash group-backed." That headline is the entire product.

Everything else — the supporting numbers, the source-filing links, and the watchlist monitoring — is architecture around that one idea.

Built by one founder. Every report is grounded in the Companies House filing it came from, and any parsing error is refunded automatically — you don't have to ask.

Methodology

How an answer is built.

Three stages. One answer. The numbers, the reasoning, and the sanity checks are all auditable — nothing is black-box.

01 · Extract

Pull the filings

We pull the latest filed accounts directly from Companies House. Where the filing is iXBRL we parse the tags; where only a PDF is filed — how most FTSE-listed companies report — a structured extraction pass reads the statements and cross-checks against the raw document. Seven years of line items reconciled for comparability. No third-party aggregators.

02 · Reason

Answer the questions

Anthropic's Claude answers the five briefings using the extracted numbers as structured input. Every figure in the answer links back to its line in the source filing — so any claim in the Deep Dive is auditable against the document it came from.

03 · Validate

Run the sanity checks

An automatic validator runs four sanity checks on every report: balance-sheet balancing, P&L flow, equity equivalence, working-capital reconciliation. A daily regression suite against hand-verified filings catches drift. Reports that fail critical checks are flagged before release.
